Everything stays on your phone

Companion for GTA V is an unofficial, fan-made Android app by Foundry Works. This page explains what it keeps, where it goes online and what it never does. Last updated 28 October 2026.

The short version

  • No account and no sign-in.
  • No analytics and no tracking.
  • Everything you enter is stored on your phone and nowhere else. We have no server and receive nothing.

What the app keeps on your phone

Your profile, including the photo you choose for it and who stands on Home; your settings; your themes; your session timers; and your Progress. None of it leaves your phone.

Where the app goes online

The app goes online for the three things below. The guide’s lists ship with the app; only their pictures are fetched, from the GTA Wiki’s image server, when a page shows them. Google Play’s requests are handled by Google Play on your phone, and Google’s own privacy policy applies to them.

The pictures on the Characters, Vehicles, Weapons, Locations and Story pages, loaded when you open them. Nothing about you is sent beyond what any picture request carries.

Supporting the app

Every feature is free. The optional support purchase is a one-off payment through Google Play, which handles the payment; we never see your payment details.

Permissions

  • Internet, for Google Play billing, in-app updates and the guide’s pictures.
  • The app does not ask for permission to send notifications: timers call out on screen, inside the app.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android’s settings, deletes everything it has stored. As we hold nothing about you, there is nothing to request from us.
